One Year Anniversary- 50 Best Environmental Law Blogs

Since this is about the 1 year anniversary since I launched my blog, I thought it was nice to see a fellow blogger has included Ohio Environmental Law Blog as one of the fifty best environmental blogs available.  Check out the list of the 50 Best Environmental Law Blogs as compiled by E-justice.  Its a good list of other sites, many of which I read to keep up on the latest happenings.

Also, thanks to my readers.  It has been a great year.   I have had well over 17,000 different people visit my site.  Many have returned many times.  I have had interviews with Newsweek, Inside EPA, trade publications, and local newspapers.  Earlier this year I even had a clerk for a federal judge ask for more information about one of my posts.   Most of all I have enjoyed providing my viewpoints and updating readers on developments in this exciting area.

There has been certainly no shortage of developments in the environmental and green fields.  With serious consideration of climate change legislation it is an exciting time for all who work in the field.  I'm always open to suggestions and your comments, so keep them coming.

Thanks again...

University Texas Law School Offers Fellowship in Energy Law

I was asked by a reader (Associate Law Professor at UT) to provide a free advertisement about a fellowship program for lawyers interested in teaching energy law.  I don't put advertisements on  my blog, but I thought this may be an interesting opportunity for some of my readers.  The information below was provided by my reader.

The University of Texas School of Law is seeking applicants for an energy law fellowship. Fellows will be jointly affiliated with the Law School’s Emerging Scholars Program and the Robert S. Strauss Center for International Security and Law. Fellows do not need to have a specific interest in security issues.

The Emerging Scholars Program offers two-year fellowship to help attorneys prepare for tenure-track faculty positions in U.S. law schools. The Program is designed to give talented attorneys the chance to develop a scholarly agenda and publish one or more articles in preparation for the academic job market. Fellows will be full participants in the rich intellectual life of the Law School, and will receive substantial faculty assistance with their projects.

Launch of the Ohio Environmental Law Blog

Today, I am excited to launch a new blog dedicated to discussion of environmental legal and policy issues that impact or present implications to businesses and individuals living in Ohio.  My goal is to write my posts in a manner so that they will be accessible to individuals even if they do not have expertise in the field.  I hope to reach individuals in the business community, government, and the law grappling with environmental regulation or with an interest in the topic of environmental protection.  I hope my background provides readers with some unique insights into this complex topic.

Posts may:

  • Discuss policy, current events and news related to environmental protection
  • Analyze the potential impacts of new environmental regulations
  • Identify significant new court decisions and discuss their implications
  • Provide updates or make observations regarding environmental programs and initiatives
  • Include opinions or observations relating to the general topic of environmental regulation

The site will be continuously updated.  Feel free to pass the site along to anyone you think may have some interest.  I would welcome your comments and suggestions.  I look forward to taking part in the virtual discussion of this fascinating and important topic.
